Why a Consortium?
Many software companies have user advisory boards, but they didn’t choose an octopus as their mascot. A group of octopuses is called a consortium, and we think that’s pretty fitting.
Cephable started with accessibility at its core, but it’s grown into a tool for everyone. Our Consortium includes gamers, creators, professionals, and students—people with and without disabilities—all who all shape how we build.
We believe in the spirit of “Nothing About Us Without Us.” That means the voices of our users are not just heard—they’re essential throughout our design and development processes.
What do they do?
Consortium members utilize Cephable in their daily suite of technology. They actively participate in collaborative product planning sessions, provide valuable feedback, and contribute to ideation. To ensure they are at the forefront of Cephable’s innovation, they gain exclusive access to roadmap insights, prototypes, and early releases. Additionally, Consortium members receive compensation for their time and enjoy exclusive Cephable swag.

Anthony Michael Weed
About: Twitch Streamer & Musician

Primary Uses: Voice commands for mouse clicks in gaming and music apps.
Impact: Anthony shared multiple creative feature requests. He inspired the option to hide the voice control overlay.

Meridith Bradford
About: Gamer and Adaptive Athlete

Primary Uses: Voice commands/head mouse for gaming and dictation for productivity
Impact: Meridith provided creative ideas and feedback within voice & dictation features specifically in the areas of gaming and adaptive sports.
Quote: "I rely heavily on voice commands and dictation in many aspects of my life. Cephable has made me rethink what is possible when you combine these things with other movements, like moving my head. It has allowed me to explore gaming on my MacBook for the first time. Integrating it with what I am able to physically do with my trackpad and some keys makes me see how flexible it really is."

Primary Uses: Voice commands in games such as The Hunter & Red Dead Redemption 2.
Impact: Evan identified multiple bugs, built and shared profiles with the community that inspired creative voice controls in FPS games.
Quote: “I love that I have the ability to play video games because I feel that really opens the world to me. I hope to start a Twitch channel to show other people that anything is possible with the disability.”
Nicole Cunningham
About: Technical Writer

Primary Uses: Dictation, word processing app control, and keyboard and mouse controls.
Impact: Nicole provided feedback on our voice controls and dictation. Her input directly impacted our public profiles for writing and editing.
